On December 4th Adidas launched the new official match ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Bashy, Kano, Jermain Defoe plus a few others were asked to pronounce the name of the ball – “Jabulani” – which means to “celebrate” in isiZulu.
Who paid attention in school and remembered their phonic blends?
The Black Tie Comedy Awards finally came around and I must say what a great night! The event was hosted by comedian Kojo who did a great job, as well as Rachel Ritfield who looked stunning but shocked the crowd with one of her costume changes wearing a black puff ball dress which looked like she was about to fly up in the sky at any time ( pictures coming soon).
In the house was Danielle Brown ( Mel B’s sister) rocking the same big hair pig tails she had years ago, Yasmine Dotiwala, Bashy (looking very suave) , Miss London, Eddie Kadi, Fundmentals ( where have these dudes been hiding?) and Yolanda Brown.
There were performances by dance troupe Stateless, Young Nate , Funky House Queen Maleka whose voice is just amazing, Kevin J ( Best New Comer) who apologised for being white and winning a black award…. he was jokes. Then the performance of the night as well as winning Best Male Comedian was Slim, this dude is just hilarious, definitely one of the best comedians on the circuit right now!

BEST TV PERFORMANCE: SLIM

Double Mobo Nominee Bashy doesn’t just release singles he creates talking points, moments of audio brilliance that captivate the listener and spark debate and comment that transcends the three minutes and thirty something seconds they occupy.
Life is destined to continue the trend as Bashy pours three emotive verses over a soulfully layered Toddla T production. The fourth video from his acclaimed ‘Catch Me if You Can’ album, Life see’s Bashy go back to street commentator mode touching subjects of greed, underage sex dreams won and more often lost, in a way only he can.
The video sets itself apart too, painting the perfect picture to match Bashy’s almost tangible delivery. Dropping snaps shots of each scene as Bashy skips effortlessly between each bar.
Bashy is set to take us on a vivid journey with his new track “Life” which is taken from his debut album Catch Me If You Can. “Life” explores the controversial issues of greed, underage sex, dreams won and lost! This is a excellent trailer which definitely leaves the viewer wanting more!!! I’m looking forward to the full video on Friday 25th September.
