SHANK MOVIE TRAILER!

in News by BangDoh on February 4th, 2010

shank movie bashy

This film doesn’t look too bad I guess, although it does seem to involve the same things as  Adulthood and Kidulthood:  gangs, fighting, bloodshed blah blah blah! But bearing in mind this film is shot in the Apocalyptic near-future, so  hopefully Shank should be bringing something different to the table!

How Do You Pronounce JABULANI???

in News by BangDoh on December 12th, 2009

jabulani

On December 4th Adidas launched the new official match ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.  Bashy, Kano, Jermain Defoe plus a few others were asked to pronounce the name of the ball – “Jabulani” – which means to “celebrate” in isiZulu.

Who paid attention in school and remembered their  phonic blends?

The Black Tie Comedy Awards Goes To…….

in News by BangDoh on December 1st, 2009

Black Tie Comedy Awards

The Black Tie Comedy Awards finally came around and I must say what a great night! The event was hosted by comedian  Kojo who did a great job,  as well as Rachel Ritfield  who looked stunning but shocked the crowd with one of her costume changes wearing a  black puff ball dress which looked like she was about to fly up in the sky at any time ( pictures coming soon).

In the house was Danielle Brown ( Mel B’s sister) rocking the same big hair pig tails she had years ago, Yasmine Dotiwala, Bashy (looking very suave)  , Miss London, Eddie Kadi, Fundmentals ( where have these dudes been hiding?) and Yolanda Brown.

There were performances by dance troupe Stateless, Young Nate , Funky House Queen Maleka whose voice  is just amazing, Kevin J  ( Best New Comer)  who apologised for being white and winning a black award…. he was jokes. Then the performance of the night as well as winning Best Male Comedian was Slim, this dude is just hilarious, definitely one of the best comedians on the circuit right now!

The Black Tie Comedy Awards  Winners are:

BEST NEWCOMER: KEVIN J

BEST TV PERFORMANCE: SLIM

BEST FEMALE COMEDIAN: GLENDA JAXSON

BEST MALE COMEDIAN: SLIM

BEST COMEDY PROMOTION: HARMONY PRODUCTIONS

BEST INTERNATIONAL: CHRIS ROCK

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT: THE CAST OF REAL MCCOY

Oh and Bill Bellamy was a no show, but who really cares? The night was a huge success and goes to show that we don’t need Americans to headline our events!
