Rapper AKS, from the Hip Hop group Midas Touch, brings us his mixtape “A Miracle in the Making”.
A Miracle In The Making is a very well put together mixtape consisting of sleek and powerful betas from a collection of popular remixes such as Comfortable with Lil Wayne, The Fear with Lilly Allen and On The Rock with Mavado. There is also original material produced by Chemo, Nutty P and Self-Taught Beats.
Whilst listening to A Miracle In The Making you will come to realize that AKS is not your typical hyped up “badman” rapper. Instead, we hear someone who is politically aware, articulate, inspiring and at times even emotional! Very refreshing indeed!!!
AKS definitely has the lyrical content to be rated amongst the top dons of UK hip-hop!
With lyrics such as:
“ I have never been the type to ever fall to peer pressure, boys chat sh*t I’d would rather be the air freshener.”
“ I know my flows ill like I got germs, I still feel butterflies like I got nerves”
“To the left to the left, my sister you don’t need all that weave on your head! Keep trying to be them why not be you instead? Cause your a queen and you should know it, though the image on the screen makes you seem like you below it, you’re the woman of my dreams”
Apart from his lyrics, what stands out the most about AKS is his voice! He does what few rappers can do nowadays, by capturing you to listen to the lyrics more than the beat! His voice has much presence on his tracks, demonstrating a range of textures and moods going from ruff and rugged on “ London London” to sounding smooth and sexy on “Stay Up”!
A Miracle In The Making is a definite “must listen” mixtape! Expect big things from AKS, he is definitely one to watch in 2010!
