Hip-hop artist Speech Debelle picked up the Mercury Prize for her debut album “Speech Therapy”.

“I feel so good. It feels better than I imagined. My family’s here. My friends are here. I’m from south London – I don’t get emotional – I’m emotional,” she said. “This proves if you believe in something and you think you can do it, you can achieve it.”

What is great about her winning one of the music industry’s biggest prizes, is the fact that up until this point she had only sold 3,000 copies of Speech Therapy ( the lowest selling album to ever win a Mercury Prize) which isn’t even enough to reach the Official UK Album Chart……….I’m looking forward to seeing more things from her in the future!!!…..well done!

Check out her video Better Day’s.
