DJ MASTERSTEPZ ANNOUNCES HIS RESIGNATION FROM CHOICE FM
Award nominated DJ, Masterstepz, announced his resignation from the radio station Choice FM, where he has been a long standing and respected resident DJ for over six years.
Whilst being at Choice FM, Masterstepz has had his own weekday show from 7pm-9pm, meeting and interviewing music artists and sportsmen such as Jay-Z, Mary J Blige, Tinchy Styder, Rihanna, Rio Ferdinand, Bashy, David Haye, NeYo, Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey, who personally presented him with a mounted triple platinum disc for her album, The Emancipation Of Mimi, to name a few. In May 2009, as a result of the largest increase of listeners throughout all shows on Choice FM, Masterstepz’s show was extended by one hour till 10pm.
Throughout his six years at Choice FM, Masterstepz was the ambassador of youth music and an active member of Choice FM’s ‘Peace On The Streets’ campaign, which works in association with Operation Trident, to deliver anti-gun/weapon crime messages. This was done via seminars, events and workshops at schools and youth centres all over London and the South East. In 2004, Masterstepz and ‘Peace On The Streets’ were the winners of the Sony Radio Academy Awards.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working on the ‘Peace On The Streets’ campaign and winning the Sony award for that show, as well as all the live broadcast shows and events such as Junior Jam and all the concerts Choice FM sponsored and that I hosted. I will miss Choice FM and wish all the presenters and staff all the best, but it’s time for me to move forward in my career and take up some exciting opportunities I have been offered” said the DJ/producer.
Masterstepz is currently signed to major US management/DJ agency, Violator, as their first and only UK DJ on their roster, alongside heavyweight international artists such as Diddy, 50 Cent, and Busta Rhymes, and the cream of US DJ talent.
Wow it looks like Masterstepz is on to big things! But dear I say is this the end of the road for Choice fm?? Masterstepz was one of the few DJ’s on Choice that played decent music and had a bit of personality and charisma! Lets just hope his replacement can fill his space!….It will be interesting to see what Masterstepz gets up to now!
