EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH CHOCOLATE BLONDE
BROWN EYEZ caught up with the multi talented singer and song writer Chocolate Blonde, where she told us about her journey as a artist so far and gave us an interesting insight into the inspiration behind her debut single “ick on my forehead”!
BROWN EYEZ – How did you come up with the name Chocolate Blonde?
CHOCOLATE BLONDE – Well chocolate is my skin colour and blonde is my mind, because I like to have fun.
BROWN EYEZ – How did you start singing?
CHOCOLATE BLONDE – I have been singing and writing since I was 12 , but athletics took over ( I ran for south west England for 100m and 200m) and I was doing that but decided that I wanted to be in the music industry so I started doing dancing but I continued singing behind the scene.
BROWN EYEZ – Who have you danced for?
CHOCOLARE BLONDE – I did choreography for Wycleff, Joe Budden, Shola Ama and I have danced for Outkast Kylie Monogue, Robbie Williams and the Artic Monkeys, plus a few more people.
BROWN EYEZ – Describe your musical style.
CHOCOLATE BLONDE – My style is mental, its everything, sexy, fun crazy, mind-full and opiniiated it’s a mish mash of things.
BROWN EYEZ – Tell us about the inspiration behind your debut single “1.30 am in the morning” .
CHOCOLATE BLONDE – Basically its saying don’t be calling me at 1.30 in the morning telling me that you like my bum! (Laughs). It’s just saying that I’m not stupid! The song is based on a lot of conversations that I have with a lot of women saying can you believe “this and that” and it’s a reoccurring thing, so I thought I’m going to write about this and I did.
BROWN EYEZ – Who are you working with at the moment??
CHOCOLATE BLONDE – I’m working with the Thunderclaps, Dave Darsh and lots of other artists and producers on my mixtape.
BROWN-EYEZ – Is there any one else you would like to work with?
CHOCOLATE BLONDE – I would love to work with Bashy because of his lyrical content and I love his energy he has good energy and I think we would vibe well on stage. I would also want to work with the Artic Monkeys, not to have a rock song, I’m not trying to jump on that but I think there music is random and it would be a crazy mix.
BROWN EYEZ – Ok, so now I am going to ask you a few random questions.
BROWN EYEZ – What qualities would your ideal man possess?
CHOCOLATE BLONDE – He would have to be fun, have a good dress sense, time for me would be nice…call me before 1.30 (laughs).
BROWN EYEZ – Who would you “shag”, “marry” and tell to “keep it moving” out of, Craig David, Skepta and Ghetts
CHOCOLATE BLONDE – I would, “shag” Ghetts, “marry” Skepta and tell Craig David to “keep it moving”.
It was a pleasure interviewing Chocolate Blonde, she had lots of positive energy and a bubbly infectious personality which is defently transfered to her music.
